Youth Homelessness Action Group (YHAG)

Who are we?

The YHAG has been active in the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) for a number of years and is now run under the umbrella of Creating Connections. Creating Connections consists of five agencies which offer a coordinated service system and enable homeless young people to achieve and sustain housing and be socially included. These agencies are Uniting Care Harrison, Wesley Mission Victoria, Salvocare Eastern, Family Access Network and Anchor Inc.

The Creating Connections’ Youth Homelessness Action Group (YHAG) is currently discussing the gaps in service delivery in various areas as determined by workshops held as part of the youth specific Eastern Homelessness Network (EHN) meetings. The current topic is Family Violence and the group has identified that there are limited services available to young males (12-21 years) who have experienced family violence.

Everyone is welcome and if you would like to be part of this group, please feel free to join us at any of our meetings.

We meet at Salvocare Eastern, Streets Ahead, 16 Warrandyte Road in Ringwood at 10 am on:

  • Wednesday, 7 June
  • Wednesday, 12 July
  • Wednesday, 2 August
  • Wednesday, 6 September – Results report & next topic (LGBTIQ) draft plan

The results will be presented at the youth specific EHN on Thursday, 12 October 2017.
