EACH’s Integrated Therapeutic Community (ITC) provides a 12-month residential mental health support service for young people aged 16-25 years old recovering from significant mental health conditions.

ITC participants work on their individual recovery goals whilst actively engaging in a youth focused therapeutic community. ITC participants collaborate with their individual keyworker to customise the program to their needs and select a range of therapeutic opportunities to support their recovery.

The ITC also offers a Youth Leadership program that provides participants with training and opportunities to cultivate leadership skills whilst contributing to the ITC community.

The service aims to support each ITC participant to:

  • Better cope with and manage their mental and physical health.
  • Develop resilience, self management and reflective skills.
  • Build practical life skills and confidence for independent living.
  • Find a sense of place and belonging within their communities.
  • Explore and engage education, training and employment opportunities.

Groups may include: art and music therapy, physical health activities (e.g. gym personal training, YOGA, swimming etc.), mindfulness, psycho-educational and experiential based groups (e.g. ACT, DBT and CBT based programs), pre-accredited training (e.g. First aid, RSA), and outdoor wilderness therapy (WILD). See below 2022 group flyer for more info.

If you are currently working with a young person who may benefit from a youth mental health residential recovery program, please start the process by contacting the preferred service/s to organise an introductory discussion for your young person prior to submitting a nomination. This introduction ensures that the consumer is aware of the program, its location and appropriateness to their mental health support needs, all of which are required for informed consent.

Nominations typically require documentation such as Mental Health Assessments, Treatment Plans, Recovery Care Plans, Clinical Reports, Support Letters and/or Risk Assessments etc.

To make a referral, please contact Nia who manages the intake via 0400 948 449 or mhc.bbintake@each.com.au. Intake panels are held on the second Wednesday of every month.
