‘Jobs for Life’ exists to bring hope and dignity to the unemployed and assist in the pursuit of finding meaningful work. The course focuses on each person’s unique design and the importance of work while encouraging and motivating students to develop the hard skills required in being a dependable employee. The Jobs for Life course teaches practical skills as well as important life skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.


This program is relatively new in Australia and is impacting lives and making a difference to those who are struggling to find employment. Students who attend the course, learn to:

  • Match their skills and interests with a suitable career path
  • Develop a vocational plan, goals, resume and cover letter
  • Identify any obstacles or roadblocks they may have, and develop a plan to overcome them
  • Understand and develop character traits including diligence, reliability, respect, personal responsibility, self-discipline and teamwork.
  • Network, research, locate and secure a job
  • Learn how to stay employed and advance

The Jobs for Life course runs for 8 weeks and is facilitated by professionals from the recruitment industry and also the social welfare industry. Courses are offered 4 times a year during the school term.

Dates: Mondays & Thursdays for 8 weeks, starting Monday 9th October 2018.
Times: 10 am – 12:30pm.
Venue: Stairway Church, 171 Rooks Road, Vermont.
Cost: $50 to cover the cost of the Student Workbook.
