10 October 2022: World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is marked every year on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health around the world and to mobilize efforts to support those experiencing mental health issues.

Every year since 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) has organized a global campaign for World Mental Health Day.

The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) announced the theme for World Mental Health Day 2022, which is ‘Make mental health for all a global priority”.

As Council to Homeless Persons says,  "there are clear intersections between mental health, housing and homelessness - including the importance of safe, secure and affordable housing on the mental health and wellbeing of populations, as well as the importance of supporting the mental health of people who are at risk of experiencing, or experiencing, homelessness.

Once we fully recognise housing as a core component of mental health care we can take steps towards preventing the onset of mental illness, achieving positive treatment outcomes, and sustaining mental health gains into the future."
