The EHN Practitioner Meeting provides a great opportunity for practitioners and allied services to come together to share information and ideas and to enhance their professional networks. Council to Homeless Persons – Specialist Homelessness Sector (SHS) Training

Andrew Edgar, the SHS Learning Program Coordinator at CHP, is joining us to discuss the central portal for training and educational resources for workers in the Victorian Specialist Homelessness Sector (SHS). The program contains a mix of live training sessions, self-directed eLearning courses and other useful resources. All elements of the Program can be accessed via CHP’s online learning system, the SHS Learning Hub which Andrew will demonstrate on the day

 

Eastern Homeless Youth Dual Diagnosis Initiative (HYDDI)

Tie Rong Chen is the HYDDI Practitioner employed by Eastern Dual Diagnosis Service at Eastern Health and is co-located at FAN. HYDDI focuses on developing the knowledge and abilities of youth Specialist Homelessness Services workers in the East of Melbourne, to identify and respond with early intervention to the complex needs of young people experiencing homelessness. They offer primary and secondary consultation; individual and group support for case managers working with clients with a dual diagnosis; short term case management; education, training and development.

 

New Client Resources developed by the State-wide Children’s resource program

The Statewide Children’s Resource Program (SCRP) advocates for and assists practitioners in homelessness support and other non-government services to respond more effectively to the needs of children who have experienced homelessness and/or family violence. Each region across the state of Victoria has a Children's Resource Program Coordinator who offers flexible and tailored support to agencies. This includes regional information; training; support and resources; and promoting best practice to those working with children in homelessness and support services. Susie Lukis is the Regional Children’s Resource Program Coordinator for the Inner and Outer East and is keen to discuss with you some new resources aimed to assist those working with children.
