Youth Homelessness Matters Day: 21 April 2021

Youth Homelessness Matters Day: 21 April 2021

Youth Homelessness Matters Day is on Wednesday 21 April 2021.

The theme for this year is "The future of youth housing is..."

Council to Homeless Persons are encouraging you to use the day to amplify messages about issues relating to youth homelessness, and to share your vision of what the future of youth housing might look like.

If you haven't already, now is the perfect time to plan your activities for the day. Consider getting involved with some of all of the following:

  1. Complete the sentence "The future of youth housing is..." with your vision for the future of housing for young Australians, and share on your socials using the #YHMD2021 and #EverybodysHome hashtags.
  2. Attend the Council to Homeless Persons Youth Homelessness Matters Day event, which will include a panel discussion on the future of youth housing, and the launch of the April edition of Parity magazine, aptly titled "The Future of Youth Housing". This virtual event will be taking place on 21 April. Register to attend now and share the event with your networks.
  3. Sign and share the Everybody's Home petition that will be launched on Youth Homelessness Matters Day, calling on the Federal Government to build social housing and increase support for young people (follow @_EverybodysHome for updates).
  4. Like the Youth Homelessness Matters Day Facebook page and share their content with your networks.
  5. Download the graphics below (click to enlarge), and share them on your social media channels during Youth Homelessness Matters Day. Don't forget to use the #YHMD2021 and #everybodyshome hashtags.
