This interactive workshop focuses on explaining the key features of a psychologically informed refuge environment and how being psychologically focused can benefit our support of young people.

Although this training focuses on Youth refuges, it would be equally beneficial for anyone working with young people.

This session will cover
• An overview of attachment theory, socialisation, trauma and teenage development
• Understanding the contributing factors to a young person's presentation and behaviours
• New ways of understanding and approaching young people
• How to facilitate a nurturing and mutually respectful case management relationship.
• How our own interpersonal experiences can influence our work
