Safe from the Start Training

Safe from the Start is a project initiated by The Salvation Army in partnership with University of Tasmania, Swinburne University and Women’s Domestic Violence Services. A research project by Dr. Angela Spinney (Kara FVS Board member) resulted in a training program and therapeutic resource kit. Over 1000 family violence, child protection workers, counsellors, foster carers and family and children services workers have taken part in the training.

Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) Training

Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) is the new provider of the SHS Funded Training (taking over from Wodonga TAFE in 2019)

The SHS Learning Program is a central portal for training and educational resources for workers in the Victorian Specialist Homelessness Sector (SHS). The program contains a mix of live training sessions, self-directed eLearning courses and other useful resources.
